How do solar panels work?

Solar energy works by capturing the sun’s energy and turning it into electricity for your home or business.

Why should I consider SunPower, when some competitors offer higher wattages?

The “efficiency” of a solar panel determines how much power can be generated in the same amount of space (power density). Some solar panels try to compensate for lower efficiency by creating larger-sized panels to increase wattage, but this does not solve a homeowner’s power needs since the home’s available roof space cannot change. SunPower’s high efficiency panels produce more power in the same roof space than conventional panels.

How much do solar panels cost?

Schedule your free evaluation that entails looking at your electricity bill to find out how many kilowatt hours of energy your household typically uses and evaluating your roof and shading, to determine how many panels you’ll need. That, combined with local solar incentives your community may offer and the federal solar tax credit1, will give you a full picture of how much your home solar system will cost.

What size solar system do I need?

During the assessment, we will assess this. Our design expert will help you to know what framework you need to suit the available space and achieve your energy objectives.

How do I save money by installing solar energy in NJ/PA/NY

Since solar energy uses sun energy, you can reduce every month your electricity bill – you can even completely eliminate the bill. They pay mostly for themselves, and you can be assured that you save money over the lifetime of solar panels.

How long does the solar installation project take?

Normally, between 8 and 10 weeks, we will move through the process. Everything that has to be done and installation and testing are part of it. This timeline can change in other circumstances.

Do I need to do something after I sign for the installation of solar panels?

We are assisting with all that you need. This allows us to help the application, to process permits, obtain potential discounts, to create rewards available to you, to help interconnection agreements, to install solar panels and to inspect installations. We're also available for maintenance post-installation.

What if my solar power system is ruined?

We provide assurances by collaboration with some of the industry's leading companies. This includes warranties by the manufacturer against panels, solar racks and inverters and our own installation warranty. You must never think about wasting money if anything goes wrong, we keep your solar system in operation.

What are my options for my solar system when I sell my house?

Entering a solar lease doesn't keep you from moving in either way; it just adds a few steps to the home selling process. You have a few options to deal with your rental when you move: buy it out entirely or sell it to your purchasers. You may want to reach an agreement with your buyers on what choice is best before you get too involved in the selling process.
